Is OHIP covered?
Annual wellness panels are OHIP-covered when there is a clinical indication. Routine preventive screening for healthy, asymptomatic adults is typically not covered — the base lab panel will be self-pay (~$110 at LifeLabs).
Do I need to fast?
Yes. Fasting 10–12 hours gives the most accurate lipid and glucose results.
How is this different from an OHIP physical?
This panel mirrors what your GP would order at an annual physical, but delivered through clinic.ca's async model — no waiting room, no appointment, results in your portal.
How often should I do this?
Annually. Consistent annual panels are valuable for trending your biomarkers over time.

Ontario NPs are legally authorized to order laboratory tests, prescribe medications including controlled substances, diagnose illnesses, and refer patients to specialists. If a specific recipient (employer, insurance plan, or specialist office) requires a physician signature on your document, contact us and we will re-issue through a consulting physician at no additional cost or refund your fee in full.
