FAQ
Is OHIP covered?
The longevity panel includes several markers not on the Ontario Schedule of Benefits (ApoB, Lp(a), IGF-1, hsCRP). Most of this panel is self-pay at the lab.
Do I need to fast?
Yes, 10–12 hours fasting is required for accurate glucose, insulin, lipid, and IGF-1 results.
How is biological age estimated?
Your MD synthesizes your biomarker results — including IGF-1, HOMA-IR, kidney function, and inflammation markers — to provide a qualitative biological age assessment alongside your results.
How often should I repeat this panel?
Annually is recommended for tracking trends. Your lab report includes reference ranges for each marker. If you want clinical interpretation, bring your results to your family doctor.
