FAQ

Is OHIP coverage guaranteed?

OHIP covers lab tests when there is a clinical indication. Routine wellness screening without symptoms is generally not covered. Your NP will determine coverage after reviewing your intake. clinic.ca cannot guarantee OHIP coverage in advance.

Do I need to fast?

Fasting 10–12 hours is recommended for accurate lipid and glucose results. Water and medications are fine. If you cannot fast, notify the lab — non-fasting results are still clinically useful.

How long until I get my requisition?

Most requisitions are issued within 15–30 minutes during business hours (Mon–Fri 8am–6pm EST). Complex cases may take up to 2 hours.

What if I don't have OHIP?

You can still request tests as a self-pay patient. The base panel costs approximately $35 at LifeLabs. clinic.ca's $49 fee covers the NP consult, requisition, and result review.
