FAQ
Is OHIP covered?
LH, FSH, and testosterone are OHIP-covered with clinical symptoms of hormonal imbalance. IGF-1, DHEA-S, and estradiol may be self-pay. Your NP will optimize coverage where possible.
When should I draw?
Men: morning (8–10am). Women: Day 3 of cycle for baseline sex hormones. Your requisition will specify timing.
What does low DHEA-S indicate?
DHEA-S naturally declines with age. Very low levels may indicate adrenal insufficiency or significant stress. Your NP will interpret in full hormonal context.
What if my IGF-1 is low?
Low IGF-1 may reflect growth hormone deficiency, malnutrition, or chronic disease. Your MD may recommend pituitary evaluation if clinically warranted.
