FAQ
Is OHIP covered?
Heavy metal testing is OHIP-covered for documented occupational exposure or toxicity symptoms. Wellness-based screening is typically self-pay.
Who should get this panel?
Individuals with occupational metal exposure, frequent high-mercury fish consumption, old home plumbing (lead), or unexplained neurological symptoms.
What if heavy metals are elevated?
Your NP will review results and may recommend chelation assessment, dietary changes, or specialist referral depending on levels.
Do I need to fast?
Fasting is not required for heavy metal panels. Liver function accuracy improves with a 4-hour fast.
