FAQ
Is OHIP covered?
Vitamin D and B12 are OHIP-covered when clinically indicated (e.g. symptoms of deficiency, malabsorption, or confirmed at-risk status). Routine wellness screening is typically self-pay.
Do I need to fast?
Fasting is not required for most vitamins, but a 4-hour fast improves iron study accuracy. Water is always fine.
What if my Vitamin D is low?
Your NP will recommend appropriate supplementation dosing and a follow-up timeline in your result notes.
How often should I test?
Annually or after 3–4 months of supplementation to confirm levels have normalized.
