FAQ
Is OHIP covered?
Imaging ordered by an Ontario NP with clinical indication is OHIP-covered. clinic.ca fees covers the NP consult and referral letter.
Where do I get my imaging done?
Take your referral letter to any Ontario imaging centre (Hospital, Dynacare, Kroll, or independent radiology clinic). Most don't require appointments for ultrasound.
How long until I can book imaging?
Your MD letter will be in your portal within 24–48 hours. Booking wait times vary — hospital ultrasound may take days to weeks; private imaging centres are usually same or next day.
Can clinic.ca order CT or MRI?
Yes. CT and MRI referral letters can be issued. However, these are typically performed at hospitals and wait times can be longer than ultrasound.
clinic.ca is staffed by Nurse Practitioners (NPs) registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class. Ontario NPs are legally authorized to order laboratory tests, prescribe medications including controlled substances, diagnose illnesses, and refer patients to specialists. If a specific recipient (employer, insurance plan, or specialist office) requires a physician signature on your document, contact us and we will re-issue through a consulting physician at no additional cost or refund your fee in full.
